Hawaii Storms

The storms hit major areas in March 2026, in Waialua, Hawaii Oahu (particularly the North Shore and Honolulu), West Maui, Molokai and the Big Island where many schools have spring break — have been a popular time for travelers to visit the islands. Many areas were completely flooded and left without power. Some residents even had to evacuate, particularly on Oahu’s North Shore, where a dam nearly failed.  The state lost $300 million in revenue due to the storms, according to the Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism. Bruce Fisher, a Hawaii travel adviser and the owner of Hawaii Aloha Travel, told SFGATE that the storms directly impacted his business. “We experienced a noticeable dip in website traffic and several cancellations tied directly to the weather,” Fisher told SFGATE in an email. “The biggest challenge wasn’t just the storms themselves, but the perception of how widespread and severe the damage was. With so much coverage across social and traditional media, many travelers assumed the entire state was affected, when in reality the impacts were fairly localized.” Now Waialua, Hawaii Oahu people are rebuilding we must keep them in our prayers.

God Word

According to the Bible, God is viewed as sovereign over nature, with storms and floods depicted as under His control, serving as both instruments of judgment and reminders of His power. While reflecting a fallen world, these events are also framed as times where God acts as a refuge, promising never to destroy the earth again by flood. Scriptures portray intense storms and floods (like the flood of Noah) as times of judgment, or “whirlwinds of the Lord” that fall upon the wicked (Jeremiah 30:23–24).Despite the chaos of nature, the Bible highlights God refuge as a “stronghold in times of trouble” (Psalm 9:9–10).
