Introduction:
Independence Day, 4th of July, blending historical facts, the spirit of dissent, and modern celebrations. So glad you’re here, 4th of July, a time for family, friends and neighborhood barbecue gatherings. Where you can find a relaxing laid-back place. In the backyard or at the beach, even at a park. This is a time when people across the USA come together. It’s the day we deck everything out in red, white, and blue, and light up the night sky with fireworks. But let’s be honest, how many of us know exactly why we celebrate today, outside of it being a great excuse to eat too many hot dogs, barbecue, and burgers as we enjoy seeing the fireworks, laughing, drinking and smoking? So, what’s the radical, sometimes chaotic origins of this holiday? Let’s peel back the layers a bit about this American Independence Day back to 1776. America consisted of 13 British colonies ruled by Great Britain and King George III. These colonists were not happy. They were dealing with taxation without representation. Basically, the British Empire was in debt and started heavily taxing the colonies on everyday goods like sugar, stamps, and tea, while giving the colonists zero say in the British Parliament. With people being enraged boycotts were sparked and then, came the famous Boston Tea Party. By the summer of 1776, delegates to a group of rebels in Philadelphia had had enough. These delegates on July 2nd, 1776, took the incredibly bold, dangerous, and defiant step of voting in favor of independence from Great Britain. Essentially now becoming ungovernable. And just two days later, on July 4th, 1776, Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence, a document largely drafted by Thomas Jefferson
National Parents’ Day, officially recognized by the United Nations is a day, held on the fourth Sunday in July, that celebrates the dedication of parents and caregivers. Established in 1994, it honors anyone in a parental role and promotes positive parenting, even having God children that’s no blood relation. This National Parents’ Day is often celebrated with blood families enjoying many activities.
International Friendship Day, International Day of Friendship highlights the profound role human connection plays in our lives. Strong friendships act as a vital pillar for a fulfilling life, delivering proven health, mental, and social benefits. Purpose-driven friendships form around shared passions, goals, or mutual values rather than just proximity. Cultivating a friendship requires intentional effort, active listening, and shared activities. Instead of attempting to change, another, seeks out people that appear to be doing what you already do. True friendships require a willingness to step outside your own comfort zones, even when it’s inconvenient. Good friendships are driven from their different perspectives, shenanigans, and candid conversations. For a few core practical principles consider the (3) C’s: Look for friendships that could be *Close* geographically. That could offer possible *Consistency* joining together at same time and a scheduled place. And that’s *Casual* a low stress, easy-going, time that offers thought-provoking trust building friendships over time in patience. Friendship Day is a human-being need that’s a kind connection with another in our lives.
